Terms of Service

Last updated: 26 April 2026

By using DocShare ("the service") you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use the service.

1. The service

DocShare is a document personalization tool. It lets authenticated Google users author a document template and generate per-recipient personalized copies of that document for clients, team members, and other contacts they share documents with. The service uses Google accounts you authorize via OAuth and is strictly limited to files DocShare itself creates (drive.file scope).

2. Your account

  • You must be 16 or older.
  • You're responsible for keeping your password and API keys secure.
  • You're responsible for the activity that happens through your account, including any team members you invite to a workspace.

3. Acceptable use

You agree not to use DocShare to:

  • Send unsolicited communications in violation of CAN-SPAM, GDPR, CASL, or any other applicable anti-spam law.
  • Phish, impersonate, harass, threaten, or defraud anyone.
  • Distribute malware, illegal content, or content that violates intellectual property rights.
  • Bypass rate limits, terms of service, or technical restrictions of Google or any other connected platform.
  • Resell, sublicense, or scrape the service.

We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these rules, with or without notice depending on severity.

4. Your content

  • You retain all rights to the templates, document sets, recipient lists, and content you upload.
  • You grant us a limited license to host and process your content as necessary to deliver the service.
  • You confirm you have the right to share documents with the recipients on your lists and have obtained any consent required by law in their jurisdiction.

5. Connected Google accounts

When you connect a Gmail or Workspace account, you authorize DocShare to create and share files on its behalf. You are solely responsible for complying with Google's terms of service and any applicable rate limits. We are not liable if Google rate-limits, suspends, or terminates a connected account due to your usage.

6. Plans and billing

  • Plans are billed monthly or annually in advance.
  • Free trials last 14 days. We send reminders before the trial ends.
  • If a payment fails, we'll retry; if it remains unpaid for 14 days we may suspend or downgrade the account.
  • You can cancel anytime; access continues until the end of your current billing period.
  • Refunds: we don't offer prorated refunds for partial months. Reach out if there's something we should make right.

7. Inbox purchases

Domains and mailboxes purchased through DocShare are provisioned via a third-party provider. The wholesale relationship is between us and the provider; the customer relationship is between you and us. You own the domain registration and have full administrative access to your mailboxes.

8. Service availability

We aim for high availability but do not guarantee uninterrupted service. We may schedule maintenance with notice, and we are not liable for issues caused by upstream providers (Google, Stripe, hosts, etc.).

9. Intellectual property

The DocShare brand, logo, code, and design belong to us. You may not copy, modify, or distribute them without permission.

10. Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, DocShare's total liability for any claim arising from your use of the service is limited to the amount you paid us in the 3 months preceding the claim.

We're not liable for indirect or consequential damages: lost profits, lost data, missed opportunities, or harm caused by content you sent through the service.

11. Changes

We may update these terms. If the changes are material, we'll notify you by email or in-app banner with at least 30 days' notice. Continued use after changes take effect means you accept them.

12. Termination

  • You can delete your account at any time from Settings → Account.
  • We may terminate accounts that violate these terms.

13. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of Italy. Disputes go before the courts of Milan, unless local consumer law gives you stronger protection elsewhere.
